ANASTASIA TUMANOVA
Artist in Residence
San Francisco based ceramic artist, Anastasia Tumanova, views her work as an antithesis to technology, a woman's soul yearning for what is natural and wild. Tumanova creates interior ceramic installations and large-scale botanical arrangements in clay that are equally as intricate as they are dynamic and meditative. The installations are inspired by the shapes, patterns, and textures she observes in the Californian landscape.
Born in Russia, Tumanova’s heritage continues to inform her style, which is evocative of Eastern European folk art. She is currently curating her first group exhibition, Sanctuary, opening winter 2019 at Heron Arts in San Francisco.
